BADA NEG / TILAK (Fri 9th July morning)
Mudha-tikka: Grooms family - brothers, sisters, sister-in-laws etc. go to the brides home taking with them on a silver platter puja items for the tikka, : rice, jaggery, dry fruits, mithai (sweets) and sometimes a garland. They also take outfits /sarees and other gifts for the bride. The groom's sister/mother puts tika (vermillion powder)on the bride's forehead and feeds her some jaggery. The bride's family also gives gifts.
